Approved Cub Scout Family Camping Locations

The Tidewater Council Camping Committee has inspected and approved the following locations for Cub Scout Family Camping. If the location is not on the listing, a request can be made for an inspection. If the location is not approved, the liability for incidents falls completely on unit leadership.
Packs must follow BSA Family Camping requirements.
CHESAPEAKE CAMPGROUND

Restrictions: There are rental cabins and RV sites near the tent sites. Most cabins near the tent sites are “rustic” cabins. The tent sites in the Sherwood Forest section are more than 300 feet from restroom facilities and cannot be used. The recommended group tent sites are: F20-F27; F11-F14; E57-E62. Campgrounds Not Authorized for Packs
These campgrounds have been inspected and do NOT meet criteria set forth by BSA as safe from natural hazards and having required amenities for packs. Packs that ignore this and use the location, should an incident occur, the unit leadership will be held personably liable, and possibly the charter organization.
