Unit Renewal Steps
- Login at My.Scouting.org. Go to Organization Manager. (The unit leader, committee chair, and chartered organization representative have access.)
- Click on “Unit Renewal” on the menu.
- Review and validate information.
- Make any necessary changes.
- Enter your name in the signature field.
- Pay and submit: Pay online or at Tidewater Council’s Mary Jayne Breeden Service Center, 1032 Heatherwood Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23455.
- Annual Charter Agreement: The Annual Charter Agreement is mandatory and must be obtained outside of the electronic process. After completing the updated charter agreement, please email the completed agreement to renewal@tidewaterbsa.com.
The Annual Charter Agreement Form is required. Depending on the unit’s chartering organization, the agreement needed is either:

- E-check
- $1 administrative fee
- Be sure to follow instructions above for Unit ACH Renewals
- Credit Card
- 3% administrative fee
Membership Renewal Reports
The How to Access Membership Renewal Reports Guide has instructions for accessing the following reports to help leaders keep an eye on renewals:
- Members Due to Renew
- Members Who Have Renewed
- Member Opted Out Report
- Non-Renewed Membership Report
Additional Information
Leaders will also receive emails from National regarding members who are due to renew. Keep in mind that those who do not renew should not be attending activities, as they are not covered by insurance.
For anyone who will not be renewed, leaders can mark them as Opted Out of renewal in the Organization Manager Roster.
There is a Sample Renewal Email from National to give leaders and members an idea of what will be received. If any members do not receive communications starting 60 days before expiration, they should check their spam/junk folders and verify that the email address in their my.scouting.org account is correct.
Individuals can complete renewals through the link in the email or find the link in their Notifications in either Scoutbook or my.scouting.org. Access to renew individual registration should also be available from Menu> My Application> My Renewals in my.scouting.org. Individual online renewals are payable by credit card only.
