VIRGINIA BEACH SCOUT LEADER KENT GLOVER RECEIVES OUTSTANDING EAGLE SCOUT AWARD

Virginia Beach, Va. – Kent Glover, a member of the Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout class of 1946, was honored as a recipient of the NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout Award by Tidewater Council, Boy Scouts of America on March 24, 2022.

Glover has been active as a volunteer Scout leader since 1969. He has been a Webelos Den Leader, Assistant Scoutmaster, Scoutmaster, Troop Chaplain, Ship Committee Chair, District Commissioner, and Council Sea Scouts Commodore.

Glover has been part of Tidewater Council’s Maine High Adventure trip and climbed Mt. Katahdin. He is a mentor for the God and Country program and is active in All Saints Episcopal Church and the community.

Glover provides his expertise in areas related to boating and has been vital in obtaining and reselling boats as fundraisers for the council.

Before becoming a NESA Outstanding Eagle Award honoree, Glover received the BSA’s District Award of Merit in 2001 and the BSA Silver Beaver Award in 2002, both from Tidewater Council, Boy Scouts of America. He received the Sea Scout Leadership Award in 2016 and was named a Tidewater Council Living Legend in 2019.

About the NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout Award

The National Eagle Scout Association established the Outstanding Eagle Scout Award during the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America in 2010. 

Popularly known by its acronym, “NOESA,” the award recognizes Eagle Scouts notable for their local, state, regional, or national distinguished service.

Candidates for the NOESA have inspired others through their positive actions reflected by recognized accomplishments and devotion to their profession, hobby, community, and beliefs. Previous recipients include authors, explorers, media personalities, military flag officers, scientists, medical doctors, government officials, prominent businesspeople, and entrepreneurs.
