VIRGINIA BEACH TECH LEADER BRET FISHER RECEIVES OUTSTANDING EAGLE SCOUT AWARD

Virginia Beach, Va. – Bret Fisher, a nationally-recognized tech trainer, blogger, and consultant, was honored as a recipient of the NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout Award by Tidewater Council, Boy Scouts of America on March 24, 2022. He earned the Eagle Scout rank in 1991.

Leadership has always come naturally to Fisher, whether in his church community, as a bowling instructor in his younger years, as a drum major in high school, and now in the software development community.

Following his Navy career in the 1990s, where he provided computer support onboard ships, Fisher worked in many IT jobs and roles throughout the 2000s. He gravitated toward leading teams and training those around him on the latest in tech, including multi-national corporations, non-profits, and local and federal government agencies.

In 2010, Fisher and his wife, Beth, started their own IT consulting company. In 2016, they expanded the company to training through live workshops and online courses. They’ve created more than 500 videos and have educated more than 350,000 students and conference attendees in 194 countries.

Fisher leads multiple online communities to help others learn computer programming. He volunteers with his wife at Code for America in Virginia Beach.
