Preston Marquis currently develops and delivers insight on foreign political leaders, systems, and events in support of US national security objectives. Prior to entering federal service, Preston completed his undergraduate and graduate education at Georgetown University, attaining a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service in 2016 and a Master of Arts in Security Studies in May 2017. Preston originally hails from Norfolk and graduated from Granby High School.
Preston’s youth Scouting journey began in 2003 as a Bear Scout with Pack 105, Connecticut Rivers Council, in Hartford, CT; continued through the earning of the rank of Eagle Scout with Tidewater Council’s Troop 1 in Norfolk; and culminated in service as the 2012 Order of the Arrow National Vice Chief.
Preston’s adult Scouting record includes coordinating event logistics at the 2013, 2017, and 2019 Summit-based Jamborees and the 2015 and 2018 National Order of the Arrow Conferences. Preston served two summers on Philmont Scout Ranch Conservation Department staff and was a delegate to the 2017 World Scout Conference.
