Justin David Kilmer
2004 Eagle Scout
2020 NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout Award Honoree
Justin Kilmer’s Scouting career comprises many roles and experiences, including serving as a senior patrol leader, attending Philmont and Jamborees, and receiving the Vigil Honor from the Order of the Arrow. Justin has been honored to be an Eagle Scout, literally wearing it on his sleeve every day as a tattoo. He remains actively involved in Scouting.
As an Emergency Medical Technician Advanced (EMT) and certified as a combat medic, he was selected to be a paramedic at Columbia University’s Ryan Larkin Field Hospital, and was part of the advance team setting up the tents and equipment when New York’s first COVID-19 patients arrived.
He began volunteering with the Virginia Beach rescue squad in 2019. He is certified not only to treat patients, but to drive the ambulance.
Justin teaches wilderness survival to Scouts and has spent untold hours at Pipsico Scout Reservation as the medic, range director, climbing, and safety range officer. His donations of ammunition and the use of his firearms have saved Tidewater Council significant dollars.
