Pipsico Zomboree 2025. More Brains, More Games.

Zomboree

December 5-7

TO SURVIVE YOU MUST NAVIGATE THROUGH 14 CHALLENGES AND 6 ARENAS

Years ago, Pipsico Scout Reservation was the site of unsanctioned human experiments. A violent laboratory explosion leaked toxic radiation and resulted in the creation of ZOMBIES. They have been conditioned to guard the formula, which, if mixed, will stop the effects of their reanimation. We need you to find a way to access the arena, evade the zombie hordes, and recover the formula. There are 14 challenges that must be overcome to reach the 6 arenas, where the viciously trained zombies guard the formula. Once recovered, the formula must be mixed and applied to the zombies. It will be Pipsico’s one and only chance to try and stop the apocalypse. We desperately need your help!

The Zomboree is structured as a competition, “camporee” style event that will test participants’ teamwork and Scouting skills in order to survive a Zombie outbreak. Teams may compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, or simply participate for fun. Event patches will be provided.

There will be a cracker-barrel Friday and Saturday evenings. No other food is provided. Participants should plan and bring their own meals.

This event is open to members of Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouting, and Exploring. Teams will be assigned Friday night. Teams may be composed of Scouts from the same unit or entirely different units. Participants may be considered youth through age 20; however, registrants aged 18-20 may register as adults if they are supporting youth in the capacity of an “Adult Member.” Attendance is limited to the first 340 participants, so sign up today!

On October 2, Tidewater Council celebrated the dedication of the Fred W. Beazley Aquatics Center at Pipsico Scout Reservation. Steve Best, President of the Beazley Foundation, cut the ribbon to dedicate the renovated facility.

The Fred W. Beazley Aquatics Center improves facilities for an increasingly gender diverse population, with individual shower rooms with sinks and toilets, separate changing areas, and outdoor rinse showers. The renovation project also includes the replacement of pool pumps, the creation of a staff room, and the enhancement of exterior features to promote longevity and reduce future maintenance needs. All updates are ADA-compliant to ensure accessibility.

During the dedication ceremony, Tidewater Council recognized Tara Preston of Preston Homes with the North Star Award for her contributions to the renovation and construction of the Fred W. Beazley Aquatics Center. The North Star Award is a high-level Scouting America recognition for nonregistered volunteers who have made a significant contribution to Scouting.

Thank you to the Beazley Foundation, Preston Homes, AIM Services, Kyro Builders, the Busy Beavers, Tidewater Council Executive Board, Tidewater Council Camping Committee, countless volunteers, and so many more who put their time, talent, and treasure into creating this state-of-the-art facility for Scouting youth.

We want to hear from you! Send stories, photos, and videos of your Scouts in action to [email protected] (with parental permission, of course).
