CUB SCOUTING

CUB SCOUTING

The Cub Scouting program is open to boys and girls in kindergarten through 5th grade. By welcoming whole families into the program, even more youth have access to the character development and values-based leadership that Scouting promises and will be better prepared for future success.

CUB SCOUTING

Cub Scouts is a year-round program for boys and girls in kindergarten through 5th grade – and their families. Cub Scouting offers fun activities that promote character and leadership development. Our program is designed to be hands-on, and parents are encouraged to play an active role in our programs.

Scouting embraces the outdoors through camping, hiking, and water sports. We also focus on helping our communities through service projects, STEM development, and building confident kids through our wide range of activities. The Cub Scout program is designed to develop character, leadership, citizenship, and personal fitness. Personal fitness includes physical fitness (well-tuned and healthy body), mental fitness (able to think and solve problems), and emotional fitness (self-control, courage, and self-respect).

HOW SCOUTING WORKS

The Scouting program is delivered through local civic, faith-based, and educational institutions called chartered organizations, which operate Scouting units to deliver the programs to their youth members, as well as the community at large.

Together, these organizations are run by almost one million adult volunteers dedicated to helping youth learn and grow.

Development

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Confidence Building

Scouting promotes activities that lead to personal responsibility and high self-esteem. As a result, when hard decisions have to be made, youth can resist peer pressure and make the right choices.

Outdoor Experiences

Cub Scouts enjoy many outdoor experiences as they participate in a variety of activities, such as field trips, hikes, nature and conservation experiences, and outdoor games.

Cub Scouts
Cub Scouting means “doing” – from camping to hiking to going on field trips or doing projects that help your hometown and the people who live there.

Adult Leaders
Cub Scouting’s volunteer leaders work with Scouts and their families to improve their communities by enriching the lives of the families who live there.

Parents
In Cub Scouting, children and their families have fun and adventure in a program that builds character and instills values.
