National Scout Jamboree
July 22-31, 2026
The National Scout Jamboree is Scouting’s flagship event at Scouting America’s Summit High Adventure Base. A one-of-a-kind gathering of approximately 20,000 Scouts, leaders, and staff that showcases everything that is great about the Scouting America and its members. Held every four years, the Jamboree is an amazing opportunity for participants, volunteers, and visitors to experience the best of Scouting, all in one place. Features include; one of the longest zip line courses in North America, a world-class skate park, ATV offerings, treetop canopy tours, rock climbing, patch trading, stadium shows, and much more!
The 2026 National Jamboree is open to Scouts BSA, Venturers, Explorers, and Sea Scouts, 12 and up!
National Jamboree Details
PLEASE NOTE: the details below reflect what the 2026 National Jamboree Committee has provided so far. The Tidewater Council Jamboree Committee is working diligently to plan for the 2026 event, and will share news and updates here as it becomes available. The registration process is completed online in two locations: the Council Jamboree Payment System (Black Pug) and the National Jamboree Website (jamboree.scouting.org) (NOTE: The National Registration Link and deadline will be provided below when provided by National.)
- Register with Tidewater Council at https://scoutingevent.com/596-2026Jambo and pay initial fees.
- Please be sure to first create an account at https://my.scouting.org/ for your Scout and for yourself (each Scout must have a parent/guardian that also has a my.scouting account for Youth Protection and legal waiver purposes).
- The next step is to register online with National at Registration Link Coming Soon. You will be prompted to provide additional information. Be sure to log in using the my.scouting account for the registrant (e.g., your Scout). The deadline to register is [Look Here for update]!
- Once registered, an email will be sent to the registrant (and to the parent, if the registrant is under 18 years of age).
- In this email message will be a link to complete the required disclaimer/release/waiver statements. For registrants under 18 years of age, this email will be sent to the parent/guardian, and this person must click the link in the email and login with their my.scouting account (not the Scout’s account) to complete the entire form.
- Once the disclaimer/release/waiver statements have been completed, a notification will be sent to the council for approval.
- Once the council has approved the application, we will send via email the link to make payments. The council staff plans to review/approve Jamboree applications at least weekly.
NOTE: All Jamboree fees will be paid through the council using the fee schedule below.
The cost to attend the 2026 National Jamboree is $2,100†. What is included?
- National Jamboree Fee – $1,560
- Program materials, food, insurance, as well as the use of dining shelters, cot, stoves, fuel, and cooking utensils.
- A “participant recognition kit,” which includes two participant patches, a neckerchief, and a custom 2026 National Jamboree daypack.
- Transportation to and from Jamboree in a tour bus
- Tidewater Council Jamboree patch
- Contingent shakedown weekend food & activities
- Each Contingent member will receive a Jamboree themed 2 liter ALPS Mountaineering “Elevate” 2026 Jamboree Day Pack
Troops may also elect to create their own SWAG for additional cost.

Payments are due by the dates listed, but participants may pay in advance.

Payments can be made by cash or check in person at the Council Office or by mail to Tidewater Council, BSA, 1032 Heatherwood Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23455 ATTN: Jamboree. Credit Card payments should be made at https://scoutingevent.com/596-2026Jambo.
- Tidewater Council is sending two 40-person boy troops and one 40-person girl troop. All troops will have 36 youth and 4 adult leaders.
- The units will prepare, travel, and camp together.
- Contingents will participate in 2 shakedown campouts on November 14-16, 2025 and May 1-3, 2026.
Requirement for Contingent/Unit Leadership. One of the Assistant Scoutmasters must also take on the role for Health and Safety. (Not an additional position but add on responsibilities.) For each Unit , a minimum of one (1) ASM must be designated the Health & Safety ASM (H&S ASM).
Health & Safety ASM qualifications – One of the following levels of training and a copy of the current license or certification must be shared with the National Jamboree during the registration process:
- Wilderness First Aid or Wilderness First Responder Outdoor Emergency Care/Ski Patrol
- EMT-Basic, EMT-Advanced, or Paramedic
- Military Corpsman, Medic, or Equivalent Medical Training
- Registered Nurse
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner
- Licensed Physician’s Assistant
- Licensed Physician, MD or DO.
- MUST have a current BSA membership with a Scouts BSA Troop
- MUST be at least 12 years of age by the first day of the Jamboree (July 22, 2026) and not reached their 18th by the last day of the Jamboree (July 31, 2026)
- 18-20 year-olds may register for Jamboree staff.
- If the participant is over 18, MUST be current with Youth Protection Training
- Be approved by the unit leader and the Tidewater Council
- MUST have appropriate parent/guardian to complete the online parental consent
- Participate in pre-Jamboree training experience with local Council and unit leader
- Submitted BSA Annual Health & Medical Record using the online Jamboree submission process. The AHMR must be dated on or after August 1, 2025
- Submit all registrations fees per the Tidewater Council’s payment schedule
Unit Leader Positions: The only recognized unit leader positions for the 2026 National Jamboree are the Scoutmaster, first Assistant Scoutmaster, second Assistant Scoutmaster, and third Assistant Scoutmaster for Scouts BSA units.

All National Jamboree Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters must meet the following requirements:
- Possess a current Scouting America membership with a Scouts BSA Troop.
- Be at least 21 years old by the first day the contingent departs for the National Jamboree.
- Scoutmaster applicants must be currently serving as a Scoutmaster.
- All Assistant leaders must be currently serving in a unit and in an adult leadership position.
- Scoutmaster applicants must have completed leader-specific training.
- All Adult leaders must file a National Jamboree personal health and medical record.
- All adult leaders must be approved by the local council.
Note: Assistant Scoutmasters aged 18-20 are encouraged to register for JST (Staff).
In addition, all leaders must:
- Submit all registration fees per their local council’s payment schedule.
- Be current in Scouting America Youth Protection Training through the July 31, 2026.
- Must complete “Understanding and Preventing Youth on Youth Abuse for Camp staff and NYLT staff” prior to arrival at the National Jamboree.
- MUST be at least 21 years of age by the first day of the Jamboree (July 22, 2026), regardless of assigned position
- All adults MUST register online through the Jamboree registration sytsem as a “Leader.” The Council will designated specific leaderhsip positions at the time the Jamboree units are assigned
- Participate and assist in planning the pre-Jamboree training experience with Council
- The Unit Care Provider MUST be one of the unit leaders (SM or ASM) and is required to hold either current Wilderness First Aid and CPR certificates OR a current healthcare license (MD, DO, APRN, RN, PA, Paramedic, EMT). This unit leader’s responsibilities include providing for the safety and well-being of each unit member by a) reviewing their AHMR and maintaining a binder / file containing all of the unit’s AHMRs, b) maintaining the Unit First Aid Kit and providing first aid treatment within the unit, and c) overseeing administration of required medications
- Submitted BSA Annual Health & Medical Record using the online Jamboree submission process. The AHMR must be dated on or after August 1, 2025.
- Submit all registration fees per the Tidewater Council’s payment schedule
