Radio Scouting is the intersection of Scouting and amateur radio. As such, it introduces Scouts to the fun, technology, and magic of amateur radio.
Scouting programs that explore radio include:
Jamboree on the Air (JOTA): The world’s largest Scouting event provides an introduction to amateur radio and connects over one million Scouts worldwide. In a typical year, over 11,000 stations operate from more than 150 countries around the world.
Radio Merit Badge: This advancement is earned by over 5,000 Scouts each year.
Morse Code Interpreter Strip: Youth and adults who are proficient in Morse code can wear a special recognition patch on their uniforms.
