Information and Forms for Travel

Be Prepared

Two simple words describe the essence of Scouting.  In planning travel and activities, it helps to keep a focus on what is important – a safe environment at all times for every Scout.

Insurance Certificates – Ask Early

Plan ahead and submit requests to linda.boyce@scouting.org.

Youth Protection Training and membership cards are being requested at a large number of Scouting venues.  The requirement of all adults participating in program activity in excess of 72 hours must be registered with current YPT training and background checks completed became effective on June 1.  Use the “My.Scouting” tools to print documents needed to prove compliance at any camp.  Many are requiring the new YPT2 must be completed in advance.  The on demand printed card looks the same regarding Youth Protection Certification.  The key to quickly identifying which version was taken – anything with a date of February 4 or later is the new program.

Health Special Risk (HSR) is the Boy Scouts of America’s accident and sickness insurance provider.

How to handle an incident.  With travel, there are unfortunately some injuries that occur.  Make sure of several things – report any incident that requires “more than Scouts first aid” to the council.  The forms for families to handle insurance claims are linked below.  Guide members families through making their direct claims to the insurance company.
