How to Complete Youth Protection Training
If you are a new leader or just want to take Youth Protection training: Visit the My.Scouting website and create an account. From the My.Scouting portal, Youth Protection Training is available through the BSA Learning Center. After you create your account (or after you login if you have an account already), look for the symbol like the one at the top of this article and click on it to start your training. This interactive course will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Upon completion, you can print a training certificate to submit with your volunteer application.
When your application is approved, you will receive a BSA membership card with your member ID number. After you receive your membership card, you can log back into My.Scouting and enter your member ID number. Click on “Menu“, then “Dashboard” to start the process. This will enable My.Scouting to automatically update your training records with your BSA membership.
If your are already a leader and need to complete your Youth Protection Training: Log in to your account and click on “Menu” then “Dashboard“. And on the line after your last Youth Protection Training, choose “Retake Course >“. Your training will then begin. Complete the training and print out your completion certificate in case your unit committee chair or leader in charge needs it or keep it in case you need to show that you have completed your Youth Protection Training. Your national ScoutNet record will be updated when you finish your training.
